Assessment

a) Regular phase - two tests:

- The first test is about the first part of the course.

- The second test is about the remaining part of the course.

There's no final exam at the official date of the normal phase.

Final mark = weighted average of the marks of the two tests.

The weight of each test is equal to the proportion of lectures assessed by it.

Note:  students who fail in this regular phase, but get positive (more than 9.5/20) in one of the two tests, in the recourse phase may - if they wish - only do about the part in which they failed.

Their overall mark will then be the weighted average between that positive mark in the regular phase and the mark in the recourse phase.

b) Recourse phase - one exam about all lectures at the end of June/beg. of July for the students who:

- Fail in the regular phase (< 10, in a 0-20 scale).

- Pass in the regular phase, but want to try to improve their mark

Students are NOT allowed to consult any materials during the tests.

The best way to study for the course

The best way to study is to understand very well  the lecture notes.

The slides made available cover  only part of the lecture notes.

Besides, they've  not been updated and thus should always be checked against  the lecture notes (which is what counts).
