Ernâni Lopes, former student of ISEG, minister of Finance from 1983 to 1985, passed away today .
Professor João Duque, President of the Higher Institute of Economics and Management (ISEG), laments the death of economist Ernâni Lopes, considering him a "brilliant mind". "It is a loss because beyond what he did he clearly had the capacity to offer even more and his last thoughts on what Portugal had to do in the years to come could be inspiring for the leaders of this country.
"It is a loss for the country," he said, adding that ISEG is proud to have had Ernâni Lopes as a student and professor.
We inform that the body will be in a burning chamber today Thursday at Mercês Church - Rua Eduardo Coelho, 95, in Lisbon. The mass will take place on Friday at 1pm, and the body will be transferred to S. Martinho do Porto.
