ISEG wins the title of National Champion of the CFA Institute Research Challenge for the 7th time in the last nine participations

The Master in Finance of ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics & Management reaffirms its excellence in the teaching of finance by winning the national final of the CFA Institute Research Challengethe most prestigious financial competition in the world. With this achievement, ISEG once again represents Portugal and the CFA Society Portugal in the EMEA regional phase of this international competition, where only the best business schools of the world compete for the title.

This consistently outstanding performance by ISEG students reaffirms the quality of the education provided by ISEG. Master in Finance by the ISEG as reflected in its position in the Financial Times ranking.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge stands out for testing technical knowledge, analytical thinking and performance in a professional environment.The event challenges students to analyze real companies and present their value recommendations to industry experts. As João Duque, Dean of ISEG, points out: "In this competition there's no room for debatable rankings - only the best reach the top."

By winning the national phase of the competition — where teams from 14 universities and polytechnic institutes participated, with six advancing to the final (ISEG, Católica, Nova, ISCTE, FEP and IST-Técnico) — ISEG students have secured access to the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) of this competition, which will be held in March. The global final, reserved to the world's best teams, will be held in May in Chicago.

At the international level, ISEG has already achieved unique milestones for Portugal, being the only national school to reach the EMEA regional finals of this competition.The school became the EMEA Vice-Champion of the CFA Challenge in 2018, 2019 and 2020 - an achievement earned only by the top 2% of the world’s best business schools competing in the challenge.

With more than 1,000 schools and 6,700 students competing annually across nearly 100 countries,ISEG's results demonstrate that beyond the importance of rankings, the quality of business schools should be measured by the real success of their students in competitive environments.
