The mission of the Student Support Office (GAA) is to identify the difficulties associated with the process of academic integration, to ensure the successful adaptation of students, and to promote academic success, development and psychological well-being.
The objectives of the Student Support Office (GAA) are the following:
- Provide support in social situations while promoting the integration and academic success of students;
- Promote the health and well-being of students;
- Provide a space where students can talk about their emotional and relational difficulties.
The GAA possesses the necessary psychological support to promote well-being. This work is carried out in conjunction with students to create and implement more autonomous and satisfactory strategies for coping with difficult circumstances. To this end, self-knowledge, autonomy, and problem-solving skills are all worked on. Nevertheless, the following difficulties can be encountered:
- Difficulties in adapting to academic life;
- Anxiety in assessment situations;
- Low academic performance;
- Stressful situations;
- Relational difficulties;
- Social isolation;
- Difficulties in affective relationships;
- Eating and sleep disorders;
- Profound sadness or depression.
Consultations are free of charge and are held on Mondays, from 10am to 1pm, subject to prior booking by email to gaa@iseg.ulisboa.pt
