Lisbon Urban and Public Economics Workshop, 2025

On the 19th and 20th June, 2025, ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics and Management will host the Lisbon Urban and Public Economics Workshop. The aim of the workshop is to bring together young and experienced researchers to present and discuss their work in the areas of urban, public, and regional economics, as well as economic geography. Both empirical and theoretical contributions are welcome.

The workshop has been organised to promote interaction between participants in a relaxed atmosphere. All papers will have a discussant and participants may be invited to discuss a paper by another researcher.

The keynote speeches will be given by:

  • Donald Davis (Columbia University)
  • Jessie Handbury (University of Pennsylvania)

Researchers interested in participating are invited to submit a paper in PDF format to alba.minano@iseg.ulisboa.pt , and joao.santos@iseg.ulisboa.pt. Preference will be given to fully complete drafts . The deadline for submission is the 10th January, 2025. Applications from early career researchers are particularly encouraged. Authors of accepted articles will be notified by February 21, 2025.

Registration fees include the conference dinner, lunches, and coffee breaks.

Fee rates for PhD students:

  • 85 euros, reduced rate for fees paid by the 31st March
  • 120 euros, for fee payments thereafter up until the 30th April

Fee rates for senior researchers:

  • 115 euros, reduced rate for fees paid by the 31st March
  • 150 euros, for fee payments thereafter up until the 30th April

All presenters are asked to register by April 30, 2025.
