Saturday, March 22nd, don't miss the 'Practical Mindfulness and Qi Gong (or Chi Kung) Workshop' at ISEG, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
Develop your ability to concentrate and, consequently, your intuition, perception of events and decision-making skills for life's most difficult situations. Achieve a balance between body and mind and learn how to manage stress and improve your health and quality of life.
During this workshop, Professor João Carvalho das Neves (ISEG) combines the theory and practice of Mindfulness, with energy management exercises (chi-kung) aimed at improving your health and well-being, giving you tools for your daily life, and specific moments of interaction to clarify questions and doubts. The Professor is a "Certified Teacher" in 'Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction' by the University of California San Diego Center for Mindfulness Professional Training Institute, and an accredited instructor in Chi-Kung by the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Lisbon).

Participants should preferably bring a yoga mat and, if it's cold, a small blanket. Each participant should bring a few items for sharing lunch and socializing.
Programme:
- Beginning with Mindfulness Meditation, to calm the mind and body.
- "The Five Animals" Qi Gong.
- Zhang Zhuang (tree pose): both systems are based on the theory of the 5 elements, benefiting the energetic flow (chi).
- Pause.
- Qi Gong: Yi Jing Practice - A system for strengthening muscles and tendons.
- Mindfulness: Body Scan - another mindfulness and relaxation practice, as well as an activity for connecting with oneself and gaining self-knowledge. According to Harvard Medical School, this is the best type of meditation for pain conditions.
- Q&A at the beginning and end of each activity.
