Resumo
This document presents a business plan, in which the economic and financial
feasibility of opening an ice cream truck with an innovative concept in Portugal is studied.
Besides the current pandemic situation, Just Roll It intends to distinguish itself from
traditional ice cream by using a Thai technique in which the ice cream is made in front of
the customer, rolled up and served. The scope of the company is to make ice cream using
this unusual technique and present it in popular fairs, corporate events, ceremonies, or
parties and in the garden city of Belém. This will be carried out with two iconic street
food carts designed specifically for this project.
The project mainly followed the methodology of Harvard (2007). To make
management decisions it is important to attend the consumer acceptance, so a closed
answers questionnaire was conducted. Subsequently, the external environment of the
organization was analysed, considering all factors that may affect or benefit the company.
With this purpose, action plans were outlined to mitigate possible consequences. Finally,
the marketing and the financial plans were drawn up.
This business has potential for expansion and growth for a designed period of 5
years. A low initial investment is required for this business and according to the project
evaluation through financial indicators it proves to be quite feasible. With a positive NPV
in all assumed scenarios and according to the baseline scenario it will take 1 year and 6
months of operation to fully recover the investment, which brings good prospects for the
project’s investors.
