Human Right to Adequate Food, Culture and Food Security. A Case Study of Food Culture in Katsikas Refugee Camp.

Resumo
This dissertation deals with concepts of Food Security, Human Right to Adequate Food and Culture. It aims to understand the role of culture in satisfying the Human Right to Adequate Food among asylum-seekers living in the Katsikas Refugee Camp. The difference in concept and means between Food Security and Right to Food is introduced. Moreover, the Cultural dimension of Human Right to Adequate Food is described. Finally, a case study is presented in order to analyse if food culture, indispensable for fulfilment of the Human Right to Adequate Food, is being observed by food security policies in Katsikas Camp. This study is divided in introduction; three chapters and conclusion. The first chapter defines food Security, Human Right to Adequate Food and the cultural dimension of Human Right to Adequate food. Chapter two focus on understanding food culture and migrants foodways. Chapter three presents the case study: Food Culture in Katsikas Camp.
