Resumo
This Master's Final Work report presents my internship at El Corte Inglés (ECI) as part of my Master's program in Management Information Systems at the Lisbon School of Economics and Management. This internship focused on applying Business Intelligence practices within the dynamic modern retail industry, where data insights are increasingly more important to understand customer behavior and optimize operations. I had the opportunity to contribute to ECI's digitalization strategy, as I worked on several key projects, automating monthly reports, developing Power BI dashboards, and analyzing customer survey data. These activities aimed to improve operational efficiency, reduce the manual workload, and enhance the reporting processes. Through this experience, I witnessed firsthand how BI transforms organizational processes, fosters strategic decision-making, and promotes a data-driven culture suitable for one of Europe's most prominent retail players. This experience contributed to my academic and professional development, allowing me to expand beyond the theoretical knowledge acquired during my Master’s program, by applying it in a practical context. Furthermore, I was able to develop valuable soft skills such as teamwork and effective communication, which are crucial to prosper in a professional environment.
