Biography
Patricia is an Associate Professor at ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics and Management, University of Lisbon. She is also an Honorary Research Associate of the Social, Economic and Geographical Sciences (SEGS) at the James Hutton Institute (JHI), where she worked as a senior researcher in applied economics between 2013 and 2017. Prior to that, between 2010 and 2013, Patricia worked as Research Associate in the Centre for Transport Studies (CTS) at Imperial College London (ICL).
Patricia's main research interests include topics in urban and regional economics, applied economics, transport economics and transport geography. Key areas of focus comprise the relationship between transport investment, agglomeration economies and economic performance; the causes of spatial disparities in regional development; rural-urban linkages and city-region economies; the relationship between travel demand, sustainable mobility and urban spatial structure; evaluation of urban transport investments; the analysis of output and cost efficiency of public transport operators.
