Economic and Social History Office

GHES is ISEG's Research Unit dedicated to Economic and Social History. It was formally founded in 1975.

Since then, the number of researchers has increased, helping to create a group of economists and historians at ISEG who specialize in this field of Social Sciences and Humanities.

In the 1980s, the faculty recognized the doctorate in Economic and Social History and various subjects in Economic History were incorporated into the master's and postgraduate courses offered by ISEG.
