The Diploma Supplement is informative in nature, does not replace the diploma and does not provide proof of ownership of the qualification it confers (article 4 of the Diploma Act). The form with the additional information must be handed in at the time of applying for the certificate and diploma, and it is compulsory to hand in all the documentation proving the information declared.
The first copy of the Diploma Supplement is always free of charge.

The purpose of the Diploma Supplement is to give an account of the student's activity while attending a particular cycle of studies and, therefore, it will include, in addition to the mandatory subjects, the activities that the graduate attended or carried out within the framework of the institution that awards the degree and issues the diploma. For this reason, there may be facts that graduates wish to show that do not fall within the scope of the Diploma Supplement; in these cases, they can be included in the Curriculum Vitae.
