Association leader

Student Association Leader

According to Decree-Law 23/2006of June 23rd, are covered students belonging to the following bodies:

i) Elected members of the Students' Association Board (DAE), the RGA Board and the Supervisory Board;
ii) Elected members of the AIESEC board;
iii) Elected members of the Senate
iv) Members of the School Council (SC);
v) Members of the Pedagogical Council (PC);  
vi) Their substitutes in the event of loss, suspension or resignation of office.

Students covered by this point only enjoy the benefits provided for while they are in office, so substitutes will only be covered by this status once they have taken up their duties.

The status is obtained by submitting the following documents to the Department of Undergraduate Studies, together with the application for exams:


Students under i):

A photocopy of the minutes of the DAE taking office or, for substitutes, a photocopy of the minutes of the board meeting where the substitution was recorded.

List sent by the DAE, proving the active involvement of those listed in associative work.


Students foreseen in ii):

Photocopy of the minutes of the board taking office or, for substitutes, minutes of the board meeting where the substitution was recorded.

List sent by the president of AIESEC, proving the active involvement of those listed in the association's work.


Students foreseen in iii) to v):

A list to be provided by the Presidency, listing all students eligible for this status.


The benefits consist of:

  • Possibility of taking exams in the subjects for which you are registered, in the season intended for association leaders;
  • Possibility of taking exams in the subjects you are registered for, in the special season.
  • Possibility of postponing the delivery of work, by agreement between students and teaching teams.
  • Students have access to a maximum of 8 exams divided between the season for association leaders and the special season, up to a maximum of 4 exams in each season.

These benefits may be enjoyed uninterruptedly, at the option of the association leader, during the term of office, within 12 months of the end of the term of office, provided that this is never longer than the period of time during which the term of office was actually exercised.


Youth leader

The following are covered students who are covered by article 23 of the Law no. 23/2006This means students who are members of the governing bodies of any association based in Portugal and registered in the National Register of Youth Associations (RNAJ).

The statute is obtained by submitting a document proving that the association has been registered in the National Register of Youth Associations (RNAJ) and a certificate of the minutes of the association's board of directors taking office, to the Undergraduate Department within 30 working days.

The benefits consist of:

  • Possibility of taking exams in the subjects for which you are registered, in the season intended for association leaders;
  • Possibility of taking exams in the subjects you are registered for, in the special season.
  • Possibility of postponing the delivery of work, by agreement between students and teaching teams.
  • Students have access to a maximum of 8 exams divided between the season for association leaders and the special season, up to a maximum of 4 exams in each season.
