Fireman

The following are covered student firefighters from professional, mixed or volunteer bodies who have at least two years' effective service.

The status is obtained by submitting a declaration from the Fire Brigade to which you belong, stating that you have at least two years' effective service, to the Degree Department at the time of registration.

The status is requested, for the whole year, at the time of registration or within 30 days afterwards; or only for the 2nd semester, within 30 days prior to the start of the semester. 

The benefits consist of:

Firefighters in professional, mixed or volunteer bodies are granted the following benefits:

  • Relevance of absences from classes motivated by attendance at operational activities, when requested by the fire department commander;
  • Take, on a date to be agreed with the teacher or in accordance with the internal rules in force at the educational establishment, the written tests that they were unable to attend demonstrably due to the fulfillment of operational activity.

Firefighters from professional, mixed or volunteer bodies with at least two years' effective service are also granted the option of requesting an exam for each curricular unit in each academic year, in addition to the exams in the normal and appeal periods, which are already enshrined in current legislation.
